About 100 Yazidi families return to Shengal

About 100 Yazidi families have returned to their homes in Shengal district.

About 100 Yazidi families were able to return to their homes in Tal Azair district in Shengal, from a camp, according to what the US Consulate in Hawler announced today.

The consulate tweeted, that "about 400 Yazidi families are still residing in the camp."

On August 3, 2014, Shengal was subjected to massive occupation attacks launched by ISIS mercenaries, with the KDP forces and the Iraqi army fleeing the region, which caused the killing and wounding of thousands of Yazidis and the displacement of thousands of them to other areas in Başûr / southern Kurdistan and outside Iraq.
