Witnesses account of Tal Aran, Tal Hasel massacre

The villages of Tal Aran and Tal Hasel experienced moments and days of extreme pain, as the mercenaries of the so-called "Free Army" committed a heinous massacre against the residents of the two villages with the support of the Turkish intelligence services, as 50 civilians were killed.

On the evening of July 27, 2013, the Damascus government opened the way for 17 mercenary groups, including the Nusra Front, the Tawhid Brigade, Ahrar Jabal al-Zawiya, the Freedom and Salah al-Din Battalions affiliated with the Kurdish National Council linked to the Kurdistan Democratic Party to attack the villages of Tal Aran and Tal Hasel, and committed a heinous massacre.

During their speech to ANHA Agency, Witnesses said this massacre left 30 Martyrs..

Juma Galo pointed out that the goal of the attack on the villages was to exterminate the Kurds, change the demographics of the region after displacing its people and stir up strife and create provocations between Arabs and Kurds.

Galo pointed out that this massacre is not the first, as many similar massacres have occurred in various regions of Syria.

Fatima Bashir described the first moments of the mercenaries’ attack by saying “On the 19th of Ramadan, specifically on the 27th of July 2013, while people were praying the Isha prayer, groups of mercenaries attacked the villages  and surrounded the mosque put a sniper on top of the mosque to target the residents.

 “They killed our sons, they had no religion or faith, the pain we experienced was not easy and cannot be forgotten. I lost a number of my relatives in the massacre" Fatima Bashiradded..

 "The villages of Tal Hasel and Tal Aran are two Kurdish ones, and the youth of the village resisted against these mercenaries. All components of the region must resist togethe" she said.

"After 3 days of this attack, the shelling and attacks on the two villages intensified, resulting in dozens of martyrs and the kidnapping of hundreds of civilians. After that, mercenary groups occupied the village this  massacre is still in the memory of the people" Zahra Galo concluded her speech.
