The Iraqi government was content to follow the Turkish attacks on Southern Kurdistan. However, after two weeks later it protested against the violation of its sovereignty, but that did not put an end to Turkey’s assaults.

In this context, the Iraqi writer and political analyst, Wathiq Al-Jabri pointed out that the Iraqi government repeatedly denounced the Turkish attack on the Iraqi territories, in addition to summoning the Turkish ambassador for protest.

Iraq also submitted a complaint to the Arab League, which in turn denounced the Turkish incursions into Iraq.

"The Iraqi government decided to deal through diplomatic means, and called on Turkey to respect good neighborliness and the pacts between the two countries. This file has always been one of the most important files between the two countries, because the Iraqi constitution prohibits attacks on its territory or the use of its territory to attack neighboring countries" Al-Jabri said.

Al-Jabri stressed that the Turkish side did not adhere to or respect the Iraqi constitution, despite the existence of previous agreements between the two countries.

Al-Jabri explained that "Several methods must be followed to deter Turkey, the first of which is submitting a complaint to the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly, and it is even possible to inform the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Arab League.

Wathiq Al-Jabri noted that the government "is seeking as much as possible to resolve the issue through diplomatic means, and does not seek to create some kind of conflict with the Turkish side, but the Turkish moves are provocative for the Iraqi side. Therefore could be a spark for major disagreements between the two countries."

Al-Jabri pointed out that "the Turkish interventions are causing great public outrage in Iraq."
