The Body for Culture and Antiquities in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria began establishing a museum to document violations and crimes against the people of North and East Syria during the era of ISIS mercenary control, as well as the crimes of the Turkish occupation state, on March 2, 2024.

During the next few days, the Body will complete the second phase of the internal cladding work of the museum, and display its holdings, including photos, tools and evidence, documenting the crimes of ISIS mercenaries during their control of the regions of NE Syria.

The Archaeological Museum is located next to Istiklal Park in the Istiklal neighborhood in the northern part of Raqqa city.  The museum is 16 meters long and 4.5 meters wide.

The museum consists of three sections, the first includes the region's heritage, including sessions and tools, the second displays photographs illustrating the violations against the people of NE Syria, while the third is an exhibition of miniature models of archaeological sites in the region.

The goal of building the museum, according to Sarfaraz Sharif, the co-chair of the Culture and Antiquities Body of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria is to document the crimes against NE Syria.

"The museum will be a witness to the violations, and the silence of the outside world against all components of NE Syria" Sarfaraz Sharif added.
