KDP's betrayal in Tal Aran, Tal Hasel repeats in S.Kurdistan

The facts on the ground indicate the continued betrayal of the KDP in handing over the regions of Southern Kurdistan to the Turkish occupation, this is similar to what happened to Tal Aran and Tal Hasel when the KDP's mercenaries and the Al-Nusra Front committed massacres against the Kurds.

Despite the issuance of the International Fact-Finding Committee in 2014 its report confirming that mercenaries affiliated with Turkey committed an ethnic cleansing massacre 11 years ago in both the Kurdish towns of Tal Hasel and Tal Aran, the Kurdistan Democratic Party had a different opinion, describing the issue as a "tribal tendency" as its involvement in it.

During the chanting "Allah Akbar" ( Allah is the greatest)  the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation army and the Kurdistan Democratic Party committed a massacre against defenseless Kurdish civilians on July 27, 2013, 11 years ago.

The two towns are located in the Safira area southeast of Aleppo city between the Nayrab military airport, and the Kuweires military airport.

Many eyewitnesses whom we have communicated with over the past years from the civilians of Tal Aran and Tal Hasel indicate that the Turkish intelligence Services ( MIT) met with the leaders of the mercenaries on June 24, 2013 in the city of Dilok (Gaziantep), and in the meeting the it  was decided to carry out the massacres.

The massacre was committed by about 30 mercenary groups, led by the "Al-Nusra Front" and the Turkish mercenaries that were called the "Aleppo Military Council".

As for the mercenaries of the Kurdistan Democratic Party who committing the massacre are 7 mercenary factions, which are: "Youssef Al-Azma Brigade, Salah Al-Din Battalion, Ahfad Salah Al-Din, Komala, the Kurdish Islamic Front, and the Azadi Battalion" and what is known as the "Kurdish Brigade in Ahrar Al-Sham".

How did the massacre commit?

The date is July 27, 2013, which coincided with the 19th of Ramadan that year. The time is the afternoon prayer. While the people of the village of Tal Hasel were performing the prayer and waiting for the Eid Al-Fitr, the massacre began.

The mercenaries surrounded the worshipers while they were performing the prayer in the mosque of the town of Tal Hasel and kidnapped the worshipers, and climbed the pulpit of the mosque and chanted "The infidel Kurds, your women, children and money are for us", and they also sent a sniper to randomly shoot  civilians, cars and everybody around the mosque.

The first victims of this attack were the children of a Kurdish family returning by car from the neighboring town of Tal Aran. The children were seriously injured after their car was randomly shot at by a checkpoint belonging to the mercenaries of al-Nusra. Front.

For more details about the massacre which can be considered an extension of a series of genocidal plans committed against the Kurdish people since the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne on July 24, 1923, ANHA agency conducted an interview with the lawyer and one of the residents of the village of Tal Hasil, Alaa al-Din al-Khalid Galo

Galo points out at the beginning of his speech that what hurts them most as civilians is the involvement of mercenaries from their own country (the Kurdistan Democratic Party), with the Al-Nusra Front.

“The words of (Allah is the greatest) heard from the mosque of the village of Tal Hasel, followed by another call from the same mosque, ‘The infidel Kurds, your women, children and money for us’, and then the mercenaries began a randomly killing the people." Galo told ANHA Agency.

He confirms that the goal of the massacre was to terrorize the Kurdish population for the demographic change in the areas of Shahba and the area extending between the cantons of Afrin and Kobani to prevent communication between the two cantons.

" Thanks to the resistance of the Kurdish Front fighters and the solidarity of the people of the region, the mercenaries’ attempts were thwarted and the defenders managed to seize some of the cars and weapons in addition to the wireless transmitters" Galo added

On the morning of the second day, a lot of residents were forced to leave Tal Hasel and Tal Aran, after the mercenaries killed more than 30 citizens, including Children and women.

Despite the lack of official statistics on the massacre, lawyer Galo and some of his human rights colleagues worked to document some of them, individually, and they are as follows:

- A total of 88 cars and agricultural machinery were stolen from the towns of Tal Aran and Tal Hasel.

- More than 230 civilians were kidnapped, including women and children, most of whom were released after paying ransoms.

- The number of victims of the massacre in the two towns exceeded one hundred people.

Furthermore, the homes of most of the people of the region were looted.

The Damascus government forces controlled sites near Tal Hasel and Tal Aran, and these forces gave the people of Tal Aran and Tal Hasel the choice between surrendering to them or facing their fate alone.

The people refused to surrender to the Damascus government forces, so the latter left them to face the massacre.

According to eyewitnesses," during the first hours of the massacre, the Syrian cellular network was cut in Tal Hasel and Tal Aran."

About 4 months after the massacre, the Damascus government forces attacked Tal Hasel and Tal Aran with explosive barrels, which led to casualties and massive destruction.

There was no direct clash between the Damascus government forces and the mercenaries, describing what happened as a handover process between the Damascus government and the mercenary groups.

After the massacre, a 9-member investigation committee was formed, representing the Kurdish parties, including the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

This committee met with a committee of 3 members from the people of Tal Hasel and Tal Aran. The committee presented documents and evidence of the massacre to representatives of the Kurdish parties that condemned the massacre, with the exception of the Democratic Party, which refused to acknowledge the massacre and considered it a "tribal dispute" in an attempt to hide its involvement.

Galo made the point clear that "Justice has not taken its course after 11 years of the massacre, and the issuance of a human rights report prepared by the International Fact-Finding Commission in 2014."

"The behavior of the mercenaries is considered a deliberate attempt to displace the population on the basis of ethnic identity, and that they followed a coordinated and planned campaign targeting the forced displacement of Kurdish civilians" the International Fact-Finding Commission stated.

Despite the issuance of this report, no international investigation committee has been formed to hold the aggressors accountable. However, the influence of the mercenaries has increased due to international inaction towards the Turkish occupation attacks against the residents and their property in Turkish-held areas.
