Clashes broke out moments ago between local military forces in Suwayda and gunmen affiliated with the Syrian transitional government, following an attack by the latter on the village of Rima Hazem in the western countryside of Suwayda.

ANHA correspondent reported that the clashes are intense, with initial information indicating casualties and injuries on both sides.

The same gunmen also attacked the village of Umm al-Zaytoun in the same area, leading to further clashes.

Today marks the third day of the ceasefire agreement, which was announced under international sponsorship between the transitional government and the spiritual leadership of the Druze community. This attack constitutes a clear violation of the terms of the agreement.
