SDF hold Syrian Interim Govt. responsible for breach of redeployment agreement

In a statement issued today, the SDF accused the Interim Government of breaching the internationally mediated agreement regarding Deir Hafer and Maskana in eastern Aleppo.

The SDF clarified that the agreement stipulated that "Damascus government forces would enter the two cities only after SDF forces completed their withdrawal." However, the Interim Government reportedly entered the cities before the withdrawal was finalized, creating what the SDF described as a "highly dangerous" situation with potentially serious repercussions.

The SDF urged the international powers overseeing the agreement to intervene immediately to ensure compliance with its provisions and prevent the situation on the ground from worsening.

Since early morning, SDF forces have been moving from contact areas in eastern Aleppo as part of a redeployment operation toward areas east of the Euphrates, in implementation of a military command decision.

SDF Commander-in-Chief, Mazloum Abdi, announced in a tweet on his official X account that the redeployment from contact zones, which had been under attacks for the past two days, would begin today at 07:00.

Abdi noted that the decision came "based on calls from friendly countries and mediators, and as a gesture of goodwill to complete the integration process and adhere to the provisions of the March 10 agreement."

In the same context, ANHA correspondent reported that SDF movements were observed early this morning as part of the announced redeployment operation.
