SDC condemns attack on U.S. Forces in Palmyra

The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) issued a statement today condemning the attack on U.S. forces in Palmyra, stating:

"The Syrian Democratic Council strongly condemns the terrorist attack targeting U.S. forces in the Syrian city of Palmyra, considering it a cowardly criminal act that threatens the security and stability of Syria and the region, and serves the interests of extremist and chaotic forces.

The council expresses its regret over the injuries sustained by several public security personnel and U.S. soldiers during the shooting incident in the Syrian desert while performing their duties, emphasizing that the rise of such attacks requires national efforts and strengthened collective will to pursue terrorist organizations and their sleeper cells. The council wishes the wounded a speedy recovery.

In this context, the SDC extends its sincere condolences to the United States of America, both leadership and people, and expresses full solidarity with the families of the victims and all partners in the fight against terrorism and in establishing security and stability.

The council reaffirms its firm commitment to continue its alliance and partnership with the United States and the international coalition forces in combating terrorism, and to implement the March 10 agreement between the Damascus government and the SDF, contributing to the strengthening of security and stability throughout Syria.

The council also stresses the continuation of joint efforts to eliminate terrorism and prevent the return of extremist organizations, given the serious threat they pose to the future of Syrians and regional security as a whole."
