Israel destroys two sites of the Syrian government on border

The Israeli Jerusalem Post newspaper reported that " Special Forces of the Israeli Army crossed the border into the Disarmed Zone between Israel and Syria, and destroyed two Syrian sites in a secrete operation". 

The newspaper mentioned that the operation was carried out in the aftermath of "Damascus continuous violation of the Disengagement Agreement concluded between Israel and Syria in 1974, which stipulates that the buffer zone on the border won't be occupied, and a special UN force, Disengagement Observer Force, the " UNDOF" would remain in the area".

Syrian government has not commented on this yet, while the newspaper added " lately, the Syrian forces returned to the buffer zone in the Golan height, and deployed troops across the border" that led the Israeli Army to take measures and launch an abnormal operation".  

According to the newspaper, the operation included soldiers from the "Nahal" Brigade of the regular infantry troops of the Israeli Army, and commando soldiers from "Yahalum", a special unit for fighting engineering.

The group crossed the border, and destroyed two Syrian sites, without noticing on radar, and the newspaper quoted Michaele Zilberg of Yahalum as saying:" you are facing the enemy, you are about 500 meters away, you need an intense concentration."

"Yahulum" Commander described the operation that it contained " opening a way silently to the two targets, and putting explosives, then bombing them simultaneously".  

Tal Goritzky of the "Nahal" clarified that the broad aim of the operation was not "punishing" the Syrians for breaching the agreement.

Saying:" we are familiar with the cooperation between the Syrian Army and Hezbollah, every Syrian military institution has the ability to become a double military institution, we will never allow southern Syria to become another southern Lebanon".

In recent years, the Israeli Army concentrated on " preventing Hezbollah and Iran from constructing "terrorist" sites on the Syrian side of the border on the Golan Heights, by airspace strikes on their sites, according to the paper.
