SDF warned from dragging region into escalation

The SDF asserted that the Interim Government's repeated claims regarding the situation on the ground in the vicinity of Maskana and Deir Hafer constitute an attempt to instigate tension and create pretexts for escalation, and held those behind these claims fully responsible for any potential repercussions.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Media Center issued a statement today warning against the Interim Government's claims regarding the situation on the Deir Hafer front. The statement read:

"Our forces are monitoring the misleading statements issued by the (Ministry of Defense) of the Damascus government regarding the field situation in the vicinity of Maskana and Deir Hafer. We confirm that there are no military movements or troop buildups by our forces in the aforementioned areas, and that all the circulating claims are baseless.

On the contrary, the current field movements are primarily carried out by the Damascus government's own factions.

The repetition of these claims by the (Ministry of Defense) for the second time constitutes an attempt to create tension and fabricate pretexts for escalation. We hold those behind this fully responsible for any potential repercussions.

We warn against continuing this inflammatory approach and reaffirm our commitment to de-escalation, while reserving our legitimate right to..." Taking whatever measures are necessary to defend the area and protect civilians."
