Al-Arisha, tents worn out with promises of renewed

Al-Arisha camp is located in al-Arishah district and is 35 km away from al-Hasakah city. It was established on 01June, 2017 to receive the displaced people of Deir ez-Zor who fled from the oppression of ISIS and the forces of the regime

The camp has 9100 people, most of whom are residents of Deir ez-Zor, who were displaced by the conditions and wars that took place in their areas, and were displaced by the mercenaries who used their homes as centers and prisons.

Democratic Autonomous Administration provides aid according to its potential, but this aid is insufficient to meet the needs of the displaced.

The displaced people in the camp have received winter and most of the tents are worn out and do not prevent the entry of water to the tents. During the visit, you will find that all the clothes and bedding of the people are wet as a result of the entry of rain.

Amna Ali, a resident of Deir ez-Zor, said: "We are suffering from worn out tents and winter is approaching, and these tents are not suitable for us to sleep

She appealed to the international organizations to expedite the solution of this problem as winter is approaching.

On the other hand, the citizen Mohammed Masoud explained that "we are suffering from worn and patchy tents and they do not protect us from the rain." Yesterday night, rain fell on us and more tents fell on top of their owners.

Al-Masaoud explained that the Democratic Autonomous Administration is providing assistance according to its means, but what it provides is not enough, and he therefore appealed to the organizations to meet their demands and renovate the tents.

The co-chair of al-Arisha camp, Zaher Garbi, noted that most of the tents in al-Arisha camp are worn out and unsuitable for winter.

He noted that a meeting was held with the Office of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees to develop a plan to protect the people in winter and how to receive winter.

He said, they will distribute winter clothes and other condoms for the tents, and the renovation of tents worn and the distribution of heaters and fuel on the first of the coming November.
