Democratic Country Call Movement expresses solidarity with protest calls in Syria

In a statement, the movement announced its full support for the calls launched by Sheikh Ghazal Ghazal, head of the Supreme Alawite Islamic Council in Syria and the diaspora, in response to the bombing that struck Homs.

The movement urged all “honorable citizens and advocates of a state of national dignity; a state of peace for all, and a state based on citizenship and the rule of law” to participate widely in the peaceful sit-in campaign scheduled for today. It stressed the importance of taking a firm stand against extremism and terrorism and aligning with inclusive national values.

The statement noted that these peaceful actions come within the framework of striving for a single, participatory state founded on democracy, secularism, and political decentralization, ensuring the rights of all Syrians without discrimination.

The movement concluded its statement by reaffirming its commitment to a peaceful approach and joint national action, calling for national and international responsibility to halt violations, protect civilians, and pave the way for a comprehensive political solution that meets the aspirations of Syrians.
