The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a statement regarding the attacks on the Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafiyeh, and Bani Zeid neighborhoods of Aleppo.

The statement noted that the mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government have been launching attacks against these neighborhoods since December 6th.

The statement included, "We, in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, affirm that protecting civilians in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods is among our highest priorities. Therefore, we welcome the offer by the international mediating powers to redeploy the forces currently stationed in Sheikh Maqsoud to the east of the Euphrates River in a safe manner, provided that this redeployment guarantees the presence of local Kurdish security forces and a local council for the residents of the two neighborhoods, in accordance with the April 1st Agreement."
