The violations of the Turkish occupation army against women in Afrin have recently increased, and women are being kidnapped where large sums of money are demanded in exchange for their release. In this regard, our agency met with members of the Kongra Star in Sherawa district who denounced these practices and called on women's organizations to break their silence and protect women in Afrin.

Member of the Kongra Star Nazalia Mohamed pointed out that the practices of the Turkish occupation army against women in Afrin are the same practices practiced by mercenaries in many of the occupied areas.

Nazalia Muhammad noted that women in Afrin are being killed, kidnapped and raped by mercenaries belonging to the Turkish occupation army, amid international silence. "Where are the humanitarian and international organizations when these violations are being committed." she said.

In turn, Zeinab Sido another member of the Kongra Star noted "When the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries attacked the safe city of Afrin, no country moved, so it is not surprising that they remain silent in front of these violations.”

"It is time for organizations claiming to be humanitarian to protect the rights of women who are killed and raped by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries," Zeinab Sido said.

For her part, Suhaila Hassan noted that the violations of the Turkish occupation in Afrin are increasing day after day, all because of the silence of the international countries which claim to be human rights defenders. "Women must unite to defeat this terrorism. Women's organizations must act and put an end to violations against women in occupied Afrin ".
