Amina Omer: Agreements which does not include MSD do not represent us

This came during Amina Omer's speech at the first conference of the Teachers Union in al-Tabqa which began on Tuesday with the slogan "Hand in Hand to Build the Future Generation."

In her speech, Amina talked about the current political situation in Syria, particularly the recent talks that held between the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) and the Syrian regime which focused on the understandings for service issues in the North-east areas of Syria and MSD's attempt to transform Syria into a decentralized and pluralistic state. Amina said, “The Syrian regime invited us and we formed a delegation of 5 people, including representatives of al-Tabqa and the delegation headed to Damascus as that was the first meeting in the presence of the Syrian government. In the meeting, we addressed general matters, including service and constitutional matters and the future relationship between MSD and the Syrian regime."

Amina Omer confirmed that no agreement held between the two parties saying, "No agreement has taken place. We agreed to form a joint committee to study the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) system and to study the Local Administration law No. 7. We agreed to continue the negotiations. A committee consisted of 7 persons, including jurists, specialists and members of the DAA was formed. They considered the social contract and the system of the Democratic Civil Administration generally and headed towards Damascus.

Amina Omer assured that the benefit of these meetings is to make false what has been published about MSD that it is separatist and to show that the solution in Syria would not be achieved without the participation of the Syrian north.

Amina Omer also discussed the issue of Idlib where she said,

The parties such as Turkey, Russia, Iran and the Syrian regime intervened for this battle. Russia determined to launch the battle and Iran determined as well. Turkey was given an appointed time to convince Jabhet al-Nusra for the dissolution, but Turkey could not agree with Jabhet al-Nusra.

 Amina added, “The battle of Idlib remained the same as it was. Russia put pressure on Turkey to find a way to take out these gangs from Idlib. Turkey put pressure on the terrorist gangs to find a way to get out from Idlib. The terrorist gangs put pressure on the civilians in order to invest them as human shields so that there would be no strike.”

Amina Omer said that the international community and the international coalition put pressure on the Russians so that there would be no battle in Idlib; otherwise, Russia would be responsible for the humanitarian crisis that would be occurred in Idlib.

Amina Omer continued, “Meantime, the Russian pressure on Turkey and then the meeting in Sochi began as it has been recognized that there would be no battle in Idlib, and this is to exaggerate the settlement according to their interests. A demilitarized zone in Idlib was been agreed on between Russia and Turkey in the condition of getting Jabhet al-Nusra out of them and Idlib.”

As for the regime, Amina Omer said, “The regime with its approval on the Russian-Turkish agreement has given legitimacy to the Turkish occupation of its lands; Idleb or Afrin and others.”

Amina added, as for the Syrian opposition, they welcomed the agreement. They do not mind any party but the regime to control Idlib.

Amina Omer talked about the fate of the agreement saying, “We do not know the fate of Idlib’s agreement. Would Turkey satisfy al-Nusra to exit the area? If so happened, where they would go; to Afrin, or Turkey would receive them on the border line in the Euphrates Shield area to direct them once again, and this would be dangerous for us.”

As for America, Amina said, “America did not comment on the agreement neither positively nor negatively. It is true that it disagree to strike Idlib, but is it advocate the agreement and its results; gains for the Turks and Russians.

Amina also highlighted Iran’s position towards the agreement, expecting that Iran landed the Russian aircraft on Tuesday to prove its presence as a force on the land.

In the end of her speech, Amina Omer assured that any international agreement that does not include MSD does not concern them, and whatever they are interested in is to support their defenses more and unify the people greatly in addition to repelling any attempt that would destabilize the area’s security.
