Shiraz Hamo: Elimination of IS' ideology requires double international, local efforts

The Syrian people live great moments, where they get rid of mercenaries who have killed, slaughtered, and practiced the worst forms of injustice, geographically on Syrian soil, but the presence of sleeper cells and extremist ideology still threaten the security and stability of the region.

In this context, agency ANHA in al-Shahba met with the co-chair of the Executive Council in the region of Afrin, Shiraz Hamo, where she referred at the beginning of her speech to the current stage of Syria and described it as a sensitive and fateful stage.

"The terrorist forces have tried in various ways and means to extend their territory and expand along the Syrian territory to create more conflicts and impose restrictions on the Syrian people and because of their aggressive and inhuman practices against the people, they were threatening the whole world," Shiraz said.

" SDF have already managed to eliminate IS mercenaries, the resistance and the great victories that have been achieved in the north and east of Syria, and the liberation of the last enclave of IS mercenaries is a witness to the great achievements of SDF and deserve the title of peace," Shiraz added.

Shiraz stressed that the elimination of IS mercenaries geographically does not mean the end of them, adding, "as there are still sleeper cells threaten the security and stability, and the elimination of IS thought requires international and local efforts in the face of sleeper cells."

In the same context Shiraz said, "On the other hand, IS has sought, throughout to target women and to practice the most heinous crimes and abuses against them, as they were isolated from social life as a result of the strict restrictions imposed on them."

Shiraz concluded, "It is necessary for international forces and humanitarian organizations to join hands with the Democratic Autonomous Administration in North and East of Syria to eliminate the remnants of mercenaries."
