200,000 citizens are deprived from loaf of bread in Sheikh Maqsoud

The people of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods woke up today, to the news of the loss of bread from authorized distribution centers, as a result of the Fourth Division of the Damascus Government preventing flour shipments from entering the neighborhoods.

According to sources from the General Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, the intermittent long-term siege caused warehouses to be emptied, and bread was not distributed this morning to the people.

The long-term siege imposed by the Damascus Government caused the loss of flour in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh on the fourth day of Ramadan, that will cause a humanitarian catastrophe that threatens the lives of 200 thousand people.

Damascus Government checkpoints have imposed a siege on the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo for nearly three years, preventing the passage of basic materials such as flour and fuel into the two neighborhoods.

On the 13th of last March, members of the Fourth Division fired from their checkpoints at food shipments that were heading to Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city of Aleppo, and from the same date until now all food supplies are prohibited from entering the two neighborhoods.
