Yazidis: We must confront genocidal policies against Şengal

Yezidi women from the city of Aleppo stressed the need to join hands to stand against the policies being hatched against Şengal, and emphasized that these policies would not discourage them from clinging to the Yazidi identity.

Six years have passed since Şengal massacre, but the threats and agreements regarding it have not ended, as the governments of Hewler and Baghdad concluded on October 9, 2020 an agreement on administrative matters without regard to the will of the Yazidis, who consider it a continuation of their extermination.

The Yazidis consider this agreement a continuation of their extermination, and they continue their sit-in for Şengal to support Asayish Izidkhan and denounce this agreement.

A member of the Women’s Coordination of the Yazidi House in the city of Aleppo, Rania Jaafar, at the beginning of her speech blessed all the peoples and the Yazidi Kurds, especially the Red Wednesday “Yazidi New Year”, and said: “There are policies against the Yazidi people in Şengal, with the aim of repeating the scenario of the events that took place in year 2014".

Rania stressed during her speech the need to stand against these attacks and resist them, and called on the Yazidis in all parts of the world to support the forces of Asayish Izidkhan and the people of Şengal, who continue their sit-in under the slogan “We are all Asayish” and stand with Şengal Yezidis against the genocidal campaigns against them.

At the end of her speech, Rania Jaafar denounced the international silence, saying, "We reject another massacre against us."

'The policy of extermination continues against us'

In turn, the Yazidi young woman, Rojin Qalandar, said: “Since history, the anti-human Turkish state has been working to obliterate our identity and annihilate us, and the policies of extermination are still continuing in Afrin and Şengal through violations against the people of the region, so it is necessary to insist on maintaining our presence and adhere to our beliefs and the practice of our rituals. "

In conclusion, Rojin Qalandar wished peace would prevail over all the peoples of the region, the leader Abdullah Ocalan would be liberated, as well as liberating the occupied territories from the Turkish occupation and return to Afrin.

As for the young woman, Yara Hasko, from Afrin, she said: “For the third year in a row, we celebrate Red Wednesday, far from the nature of our land and our holy places in Afrin, but to know that no matter how enemies of humanity continue to exterminate the Yazidis, they will not discourage us from practicing our rituals.”

She continued, "We support the people of Şengal, denounce the agreements, and say that our event aims to revive our culture is evidence of the failure of those policies and the establishment of the foundations of democracy that calls for brotherhood of peoples and coexistence."
