International community must end Turkish occupation in Syria, Afrin

The local councils in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor denounced the international silence towards the violations committed against their people at the hands of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, demanding, on the same time, the international community to put pressure on the Turkish occupation to get out of Afrin and all the areas in the Syrian north.

The members of the local councils of Deir ez-Zor western countryside gathered in the Martyr Kheder Hamada Shrine in the village of Abu Khashab to issue a statement on Turkey’s occupation of areas in North Syria and in particular Afrin canton, and the co-chair of Abu Khashab Council Samah al-Jassem read the statement, and said,

"We, as the local councils in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor denounce the Turkish intervention and occupation of the Syrian territories, especially Afrin, and we call on all the free people in the world to stand with us against the Turkish intervention.

As the people of Deir ez-Zor and its western countryside, we stand with our people in Afrin in the resistance and steadfastness in the face of the Turkish occupation. We also call upon the international community to break its silence and move to stop the Turkish occupation and put pressure on Turkey to withdraw from all the areas which it occupied in the north of Syria."
