The Khabur and Zerkan rivers have resumed flowing in the city of Tel Tamer and its countryside after months of dry conditions and declining water levels, coinciding with an increase in water inflows to the area.

ANHA agency observed water returning to the two river channels around Tel Tamer, with water beginning to flow again after a period of drought. The renewed flow is seen as an important development for the area, whose agricultural and environmental conditions depend largely on available water resources.

Large stretches of the Khabur and Zerkan river channels experienced dryness and a significant decline in water levels in recent months, affecting the surrounding landscape and agricultural land that depends on surface and groundwater sources.

The renewed flow is important for local residents and farmers, particularly as the agricultural season continues. The availability of water helps support agricultural activity and maintain soil moisture and vegetation cover in areas surrounding the waterways.

The return of water also represents an important factor for the local environment, as the plant life and surrounding ecosystems along the two rivers depend on the availability and continued flow of water.

Residents of the area hope that the flow of water will continue in the coming period and that its return will not be temporary, given the importance of water resources to the population, agriculture and environment in Tel Tamer and its countryside.

With the return of water to the Khabur and Zerkan rivers, the two rivers are regaining part of their presence in the natural landscape of Tel Tamer and its countryside after months of drought and interruption.
