Forum launched in support of Sweida women

More than 65 figures from various organizations are participating in a dialogue forum organized by the Joint Events Platform for Women's Movements and Organizations under the title "Together to Support Women in Sweida in the Face of Genocide," including the Kongra Star, the Syriac Women's Union, the Network of Women Peace Leaders, representatives of political parties, and the Chauska Organization. 

In addition, representatives from the Women's Council of the Syrian Democratic Council, the Women's Coordination Committee in North and East Syria, the Zenobia Women's Gathering, the Women's Council for Social Justice, the Council of Martyrs' Families, and the Syrian Women's Council are also attending. Independent figures will also be present.

The forum will address two main themes: the first, "The General Syrian Situation and Violations Against Syrian Women," will be presented by Janda Muhammad, the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council. It will address the most prominent forms of violence and violations against women across Syria and the role of women in confronting them.

The second theme, "Violations Against Women in Sweida," will be moderated by Mariam Muhammad Ali, the administrator of the Zenobia Women's Gathering Coordination. She will highlight the suffering of women in Sweida and the crimes committed against them.

The forum began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs. This was followed by audio messages from women in Sweida, sent to the Joint Events Platform, in which they spoke about the violations against women and children in the region. The women of Sweida expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the women of North and East Syria for their solidarity and for organizing such forums.

The forum is scheduled to conclude with a series of outcomes and recommendations aimed at supporting Syrian women, highlighting the challenges they face, and opening broader horizons for solidarity and joint action among women across different regions.

This dialogue forum is one of a series of events launched by the Joint Events Platform for Women's Movements and Organizations in North and East Syria on July 30, as part of a broader campaign to support the women of Sweida.
