Free, special services in al-Sha'ab Hospital in al-Hasakah

The Health Council of al-JazeeraHealth Body has opened a health center in the name of al-Sha'ab Hospital Clinics since nearly a month. It provides services in 12 specialties: Cardiology, Internal, Otic, Ophthalmology, Urinary, Dermatology, Yniatry, pediatrics, General Surgery Nervous and Dental.

The need to open these clinics

The member of the Health Council in al-Hasakah canton, Lalish Sheikho, said that they initiated the step of opening specialized clinics to provide their services free of charge, after considering the deteriorating health situation in the region as a whole and the urgent need for civilians to such a center to alleviate their suffering amid the difficult economic situation of many families that limits the review of hospitals and private clinics for treatment.

Al-Sha'ab Hospital Clinics operate daily except for Fridays from 08:00 until 15:00 under the supervision of specialist doctors.

Sheikho said that the clinics need additional equipment to provide their services to the fullest, noting that they will work with all their energies to complete the shortcomings.

Receive dozens of cases daily

Al-Sha'ab Hospital Clinics, despite its recent opening, receives daily dozens of illness cases.

Jaylan Salman, an administrator at al-Sha'ab Hospital said, "The hospital's clinics initially received only a few patients, but now they receive about 60 cases a day," she added that most of the cases they receive are internal and cardiac.

Jaylan noted that their services in the clinics are patients' examination, laboratory tests and radiographs, while patients are only allowed to buy medicines from pharmacies now.

Jaylan said that in the near future, they will open a pharmacy to provide free medicines to patients.

Dr. Samer Abdel-Nazzal, an ENT specialist said, "Their work is currently limited to patient examination and treatment, and sections are gradually being developed for the better."

Good step

Rezan Mahmoud, who came with his elderly mother to the clinics to treat her suffering from diseases in her limbs, described this step initiatiated by the Health Council as good, indicating that they have not previously known how to treat his mother and to provide her with medicines, but now that these clinics have opened, these difficulties have been solved and they have saved them a lot of money."
