Initiation of the largest project to extend sewage network in Kobanî

In anticipation of the construction of a residential facility south of Kobanî city center, the local administration and municipalities in the canton had begun the implementation of the largest project to extend the sewerage network in the 10th of June, extending from the 24th Street in the eastern neighborhood of Botan, which extends from the Free Women's Square to the south to Termîk village south of Kobanî city, and the length of 1200 m.

According to project supervisors, the 500-meter drainage pipes have been extended within 24 days.

In addition, 35 rain orifice will be constructed along the length of the project to reduce the rainwater gather, which is causing floods and torrents in the streets, causing massive damage to civilian homes and property, in addition to the drowning of two children in the city.

In the past two months, Kobanî city has witnessed heavy summer rains, which have caused torrents that have submerged many neighborhoods and houses with water, amid the inability of the concerned authorities to block this gap because of their limited potential.

In another context, the People's Municipalitys continues to asphalt streets, to maintain the bad roads and to fill pits.

While the municipality workers continue to clean the streets, watering trees and painting sidewalks in a move to give the elegance and beauty of the city.
