Health awareness symposium for women in Sheikh Maqsoud

In coordination with the Health Committee in the Kurdish Red Crescent in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo, Kongra Star organized an awareness-raising symposium on the health risks of cesarean section in the meeting hall in the neighborhood.

In order to avoid the negative effects and risks of childbirth on the mother and fetus, Kongra Star organized, in coordination with the Health Committee of the Kurdish Red Crescent, an awareness-raising symposium, and dozens of women and members of institutions in the neighborhood attended the symposium.

The symposium included a lecture given by Dr. Mohammed Mamo, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, as he talked about the phenomenon of resorting to caesarian operations in childbirth without need, instead of natural birth.

Dr. Mohammed Mamo spoke about the possible risks of cesarean operations on the mother and fetus, as well as its long-term side effects. He advised women to follow the health habits that may make them to avoid the use of caesarean section by taking adequate rest and sleep, and reviewing the specialist doctor periodically.

After that, Dr. Mohammed Mamo opened the door of discussions to the women present to discuss the importance of maternal and new-born health and the advices that the mother can follow during pregnancy.

Later, a television show was presented about the stages, in which the pregnant women go through, and the difference between the caesarean operation and natural one.
