Rojava Kurdistan Intellectuals’ Union concludes 10th Conference

The Rojava Kurdistan Intellectuals’ Union has concluded its 10th conference in Qamishlo, held under the slogan “In Tribute to the Late Ahmed al-Husseini,” with the election of a new administrative board. A final statement is expected to be issued at a later date.

The Rojava Kurdistan Intellectuals’ Union held its 10th conference today at its headquarters in Qamishlo, under the slogan “In Tribute to the Late Ahmed al-Husseini.” Dozens of its members attended, along with a number of writers, intellectuals and people interested in cultural affairs.

Following opening remarks delivered during the conference, including an address by Kamal Najm, a member of the preparatory committee, and a speech on behalf of the union delivered by Anahita Seno, congratulatory messages sent by institutions and participating delegations were read out. The union's activities over the past two years were also reviewed.

The conference proceedings continued behind closed doors, away from the media, and concluded with the election of a new seven-member administrative board. A final statement is expected to be issued at a later date.
