Roj News Agency reported, quoting local sources, that the Turkish bombing, which focused on the villages of Maja and Kafn Maja (Mazha and Kafnmajha), was not limited to the outbreak of fires, but also caused the displacement of the residents of the two villages after being subjected to great pressure from the Turkish forces that forced them to leave their homes and farms, leaving behind orchards and farms that are now at risk of complete burning.

In this context, eyewitnesses indicated that the fires that broke out as a result of the Turkish bombing have devoured large areas of agricultural land and forests, which are a primary source of livelihood for the residents of the region. Despite the efforts made by some local residents to try to control the fires, the continued shelling and the difficulty of reaching the affected areas made this extremely difficult.

The sources added that the official authorities in the Kurdistan Regional Government did not go to the fire sites, which exacerbated the situation and led to the expansion of the fires, which have so far consumed a large part of the local residents' orchards.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish attacks on the border areas in the Kurdistan Region have become a recurring scene in recent years, as they have so far burned more than 68 thousand dunams of forests and agricultural lands in Southern Kurdistan. Despite these huge environmental and humanitarian losses, officials in the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi government did not address this issue during their recent visit to Ankara.

These events have sparked widespread resentment among the residents of the region, who expressed their anger at the continued Turkish attacks and the silence of local and international authorities regarding what they described as the "systematic destruction" of their environment and property, demanding that these attacks be stopped and those responsible for them be held accountable.
