The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) announced its support for the "No to Execution" campaign launched by the Women's Media Union in protest against the decision to execute activists Bakhshan Azizi and Sharifa Mohammadi.

In a statement received by ANHA agency, the movement said: "The stance of any state, entity, or organization determines its level of sophistication, development, and democracy. However, it seems that humanity in many parts of the world, especially in the Middle East, continues to suffer from exclusionary, authoritarian, and statist mindsets."

The statement pointed out that these regimes base their oppression of freedoms and the persecution of women, in particular, as a foundation for imposing control and entrenching their dominance over societies. It seems as if they seek to halt the movement of history and the change that is inherent in societies, but the movement also affirmed that change will come, whether these authoritarian mindsets accept it or not.

The statement noted that patriarchal systems have been striving for 5,000 years to marginalize, erase, and distort everything that women have contributed to human civilization, to seize their achievements and use them for their authority and dominance, and to transform societies into mere tools for achieving their interests. The statement highlighted that many societies have rebelled against these systems in pursuit of their freedom.

The movement, in its statement, drew attention to the sentences issued by the Iranian state against dozens of Kurdish activists, journalists, and human rights activists, and recently the decision to execute activists Sharifa Mohammadi and Bakhshan Azizi, pointing out that these sentences demonstrate Tehran's fragility, fear, and inability to stand against the will of free women.

In conclusion, the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) announced its full support for the Women’s Media Union campaign to stop the execution orders against activist and journalist Bakhshan Azizi and activist Sharifa Mohammadi, and all women in the prisons of the Iranian regime.

The movement called on all democratic forces, international organizations, free consciences, human rights organizations, and journalist unions to stand in solidarity with this humanitarian campaign and with prisoners of conscience in Iranian prisons, demanding their immediate release.
