Intelligence personnel entered the political detention ward of the women's section of Lakan prison on 14 August and transferred 2 activists to the intelligence department in Rasht for "interrogation." The identities of these 2 prisoners have not been revealed.

According to Iranian media, the supervising judge in the prison did not provide any answers to the women in the political ward, prompting them to sit in the prison guard's office to protest the actions of the intelligence agents.

Earlier in July, 11 women's rights activists were transferred to Lakan prison to serve their sentences. In addition, 5 women activists from Kilan, working in the media and environmental field, were recently sentenced to a total of more than 20 years and 7 months in prison.
