Kurds, their friends in Lebanon celebrate August 15

 August 15th of each year marks the anniversary of the declaration of the armed struggle by the Kurdistan Workers' Party, led by the martyr Akid (Masum Korkmaz) in 1984, against the Turkish occupation state. On this occasion, the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Lebanon organized a celebration today attended by more than two thousand people from the sons and daughters of the Kurds, representatives of women's and Kurdish associations and the Kongra Star, in addition to their friends from the Arabs, Syriacs and Armenians.

The celebration began with a minute of silence, then speeches were delivered by the member of the Kongra Star in Lebanon, Jihan Afrin, the member of the PYD Youth, Jihad Kobani, the administrator of the Democratic Union Party in Lebanon, Rifan Muhammad, and the friend of the Kurdish people, Dr. Abdul Hayek, in which they stressed that "the Kurdish people, along with the peoples of the Middle East and the guerrilla fighters, will triumph with the spirit of the resistance of August 15."

Then the Martyr Rojenda Band presented Folk dance.

This was followed by a theatrical performance entitled "Afrin" by the Martyr Rojenda Band and a singing by the Afrin singer Muhammad Balko.

The celebration ended with Folk dance to the tunes of revolutionary songs.
