Protests and candlelight marches were held across India, during which the slogan "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" was raised, which means in Arabic (Woman, Life, Freedom), and doctors refused to receive patients except for emergency cases.

The protests came against the backdrop of the killing of a 31-year-old female doctor in the early hours of August 9 in the eastern Indian city of Calcutta.

As a result, the Yazidi Women's Freedom Movement and the Free Women's Movement sent two messages of solidarity to Indian women.

The message of the Yazidi Women's Freedom Movement read: "We, the Yazidi Women's Freedom Movement, greet you, Indian women, with the spirit of 'Woman, Life, Freedom'. Women have established themselves with their toil, work and thoughts, but the patriarchal mentality imposed on women for 5,000 years is killing and destroying women's lives at every moment. This mentality is the mentality of sexual assault.

Women in the world are subjected to psychological, emotional and physical assault from all sides, and face violence everywhere, at home, in the neighborhood or at school."

The movement said in the message: "Let us organize and strengthen our defense system to break the gender mentality and make the 21st century the century of women's freedom. We are closely following the struggle of beautiful women in India. Especially the protest of thousands of women carrying the slogan 'Woman, Life, Freedom', has rekindled our spirits. The scenes were very touching and valuable."

She continued: "The philosophy of 'Woman, Life, Freedom', which Leader Abdullah Ocalan dedicated to all women, has become famous all over the world, and with it the feelings of demands for freedom are rising."

The Yazidi Women's Freedom Movement saluted women's struggle to create a free and dignified life, and noted: "The philosophy of (Woman, Life, Freedom) is a moral force and a historic victory for us as much as it is a failure for the authorities."

"The resistance of Indian women strengthens the resistance of Kurdish women"

The message of the Free Women's Movement read: "We salute from Kurdistan the resistance you have shown against rape in your country. Unfortunately, our lands have witnessed many crimes like it. History is full of massacres committed due to the patriarchal mentality."

The movement added: "We know that Indian geography has followed a philosophical approach to life for tens of thousands of years, thanks to women's work, knowledge and experiences with nature, and we can see that misogyny develops through sexism, nationalism and religiosity, just as is the case in Kurdistan."

"The male-dominated mentality tries to maintain its power through misogyny. They want to possess women by raping them, and they show their power by killing them. This system does not want to see any feminine identity in life other than being a wife, mother and lover of men, so it declared war on the identity of free women through rape and massacres," she explained.

The movement pointed out that "in the protests that took place in India, the slogan 'Woman, Life, Freedom' was raised, which is a slogan for free life. Women are life itself and life must be free. Killing women is killing life. The male mentality that cannot tolerate us being free wants to kill life by raping our bodies, efforts and knowledge. A world without free women is no different from a panting piece of land."

The Free Women's Movement noted in the letter, "Although we live in different geographical areas and different cultures, the fact that we are women brings borders closer to us. Your anger and resistance have once again demonstrated the need for women’s solidarity. Rape of an Indian woman is rape of a Kurdish woman, and Indian women’s resistance strengthens Kurdish women’s resistance.” The Free Women’s Movement concluded its message by emphasizing that “the slogan “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” is a call for a free life led by women.”
