Damascus government forces and the so-called "National Defense" launched attacks between 7 and 12 August on the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, killing 15 civilians and wounding 24 others.

The people's properties were also destroyed as a result of the shelling, in addition to the outage of 4 drinking water stations and the deprivation of tens of thousands of citizens of drinking water.

The stations that were out of service were: Al-Sabha water station in the city of Al-Busaira, irrigating 15,000 people, Al-Omar station in the town of Dhiban, irrigating 3,000 people, Hawaj Dhiab water station in the western countryside of the city of Kasra, irrigating 12,000 people, and Abu Hamam al-Oula water station, irrigating 4,000 people.

As soon as security was restored to the villages and towns of Deir ez-Zor Canton, the provincial water center began repairing the damage to the 4 stations, all of which returned to service.

Fawaz al-Atish, director of the Deir ez-Zor Water center, confirmed that the stations suffered severe damage, including station bodies, electrical transformers and water pipes.

Al- Atish confirmed that the foundation has rehabilitated all the damaged stations and has now entered the service of the people.

Deir ez-Zor Canton has 80 drinking water stations, some of which draw water from the Euphrates River and irrigation canals in the Canton.
