The 5th conference of the Democratic Society Movement, which is currently being held under the slogan "Democratic Society Organizations Guarantee Freedom, Justice and Equality" in the Sardam Hall in the city of al-Hasakah, witnessed an extensive assessment of the attacks witnessed by the North and East Syria region, specifically the attack by the Damascus government forces and the so-called "National Defense" on the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

During the conference, a speech was delivered on behalf of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria region by the deputy co-chairmanship of the Executive Council, Gabriel Shamoun.

After congratulating the holding of the conference, and referring to the important role of the Democratic Society Movement in organizing society since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, Shamoun addressed the attack by the Damascus government forces and the so-called "National Defense" on the countryside of Deir ez-Zor canton, and warned of its repercussions on the Syrian people.

Shamoun said: "What is happening in Deir ez-Zor is an attempt to drag the region into escalation, and to circulate the war instead of ending it with the peoples of the North and East of Syria region, who will never give up their gains in favor of any party, through their military forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces."

He stressed that the peoples of the North and East of Syria region reject war, and always seek solutions through dialogue, and that the Democratic Autonomous Administration continues to be open to forms of dialogue between all Syrians, to reach a solution that guarantees the safety of the peoples and Syrian lands.

Also, while congratulating the members of the Democratic Society Movement, and referring to the achievements made by the movement, and its positive role in organizing society, the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Leila Karaman, focused in a speech during the conference on behalf of the council, on the same point, and on the challenges facing the North and East of Syria region.

Regarding the Syrians and the challenges facing the peoples of North and East Syria, she pointed out the continued attacks of the Turkish occupation state, "Today we are facing great challenges; Turkey continues to threaten security and stability and deliberately destroys infrastructure, and displaces the people of North and East Syria by targeting infrastructure and occupying areas."

She expressed the firm position of the SDC in rejecting the occupation of Syrian lands, and its support for a peaceful political solution to bring peace and stability to Syria.

In her speech, she also compared how the people of North and East Syria are approaching the future of the country, and the vision and actions of both the Turkish occupation state and the Damascus government, referring to the solidarity of the clans and components under the Democratic Autonomous Administration, and Turkey's bombing and the attack of the Damascus government forces and the so-called "National Defense" on the people of Deir ez-Zor.

Condemning the massacre committed by the Damascus government forces and the so-called "National Defense" in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor canton, the co-chair of the SDC, Leila Karaman, warned the Damascus government of the consequences of its forces' attacks on the peoples of North and East Syria.

Its repercussions on the means of solution, and dragging Syria into more war and conflicts, ultimately lead to deepening the Syrian crisis and increasing the suffering of the Syrians.
