Homes, properties destroyed due to Damascus forces' shelling of Deir ez-Zor
Images taken of properties in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor reveal the devastation faced by civilians due to the shelling by Damascus government forces and the so-called "National Defense."
Since midnight Tuesday-Wednesday, the Damascus government forces and the so-called "National Defense" have been shelling towns and villages in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor from their positions in the Al-Mayadin, Al-Bukamal, and Al-Ashara areas.
They have targeted towns such as Diban, Al-Shuhail, Al-Tayaneh, Darinj, Abu Hardoub, Abu Hamam, Al-Latwa, and Gharanij, among others, while the Syrian Democratic Forces have taken necessary precautions.
Since dawn today, shelling has continued from their positions in the villages of Al-Dweir and Sbeikhan, targeting the villages of Al-Busaira, Al-Kashkiyah, and Abu Hamam.
Footage from the village of Al-Sabha and the town of Al-Kashkiyah in Deir ez-Zor shows the direct impact on civilians. The images reveal a destroyed home with scattered furniture, a child's bed covered in debris from the brutal shelling, and severed electrical wires. There is also visible damage to the walls and roofs of homes and shops, along with empty beds, burned furniture, and scattered kitchenware and clothing.
As of the time of this report, the ongoing shelling since Tuesday night has resulted in the martyrdom of 13 civilians, injury to 26 others, the martyrdom of two Syrian Democratic Forces fighters, and extensive damage to civilian property, the full extent of which has yet to be fully assessed.
