For her part, the leader of the Shengal Women's Units, Heza Shengal, thanked the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the Yazidi House, and said: "Since 2014, the Women's Protection Units have saved hundreds of Yazidi women and children, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party and Iraq are still, through their plans, repeating the massacres against the Yazidi community. Our resistance and struggle will continue until the end."
On August 1, the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) announced that they had saved the young Yazidi woman Aziza Khalid from al-Hol camp, and that they had arrested the young woman Tawaf Dawood Jetto on the Syrian-Iraqi border while she was trying to escape.
