The Democratic Union Party (PYD) is holding its third congress in the Jazera Canton, under the slogan "Organization and protection is the basis for building a free democratic political society" with the participation of 350 delegates from all cities and towns of the Canton of Jazera, at the Zana Hall in Qamishlo.

The conference began with a minute of silence, and then the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Asia Abdullah, delivered a speech at the beginning of which she remembered the martyrs of the revolution.

Asia Abdullah stated that as a party they are going through a very important stage and that historical responsibilities fall on their shoulders.

In her speech, Asia Abdullah stated that the PYD has been marching non-stop for 21 years starting in 2003, and thanks to the martyrs who sacrificed for this cause, our struggle has escalated.

PYD co-chair Asia Abdullah noted that leader Abdullah Ocalan has waged a tireless struggle at the political and organizational levels to resolve peoples' issues, but he has been heavily isolated for 25 years, adding: "Leader Abdullah Ocalan is engaged in a historic resistance. The main task of everyone, led by the PYD, is to escalate the struggle against isolation, it is our main mission."

During her speech, Asia Abdullah touched on the attacks of the Damascus government forces on the Deir ez-Zor area and extended condolences to the families of the victims of the attacks.

PYD co-chair Asia Abdullah condemned the attack, adding: "If the Syrian government now controls some areas, it is thanks to the resistance and struggle of the YPG, the YPJ and the Kobani resistance. With the unity of our people, we will stand up to these attacks."

According to the conference program, the reports of the party's work in the Jazera Canton and the party's women's council in the Jazera Canton will be read. After the discussions, a co-chair and the PYD council will be elected in the Jazera Canton.
