Internal Security Forces arrest ISIS mercenary in Deir ez-Zor
The Internal Security Forces have arrested an ISIS mercenary in eastern Deir ez-Zor, who was responsible for the deaths of civilians and several of their members.
The Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of the mercenary, involved in several assassination operations by ISIS cells in eastern Deir ez-Zor, during a coordinated security operation on Tuesday, July 23.
In a statement released on their official website today, they said: "The General Security Serves, after precise surveillance and monitoring, managed to arrest him after collecting all the evidence proving his involvement in targeting our security points and checkpoints, resulting in the deaths of civilians and our members during these attacks, as well as targeting service and civilian centers."
The statement added that during interrogation, the mercenary confessed to the attacks he had carried out and will be transferred to the competent judiciary after completing the necessary legal procedures.
The statement concluded by reaffirming that "our forces will continue their operations to track down ISIS cells, maintain security and stability, and ensure the safety of citizens.”
