A report issued by the Violations Documentation Center today indicated that the Turkish occupation recruited thousands of Syrians in exchange for financial sums and transferred them to Southern Kurdistan.

The Center reported from reliable sources that, several months ago, the Turkish occupation recruited Syrian mercenaries from those it had gathered in areas it occupied, in exchange for sums of money. It took advantage of the widespread poverty and unemployment in the areas occupied by Turkey in Syria.

According to the information, the mercenaries are trained and equipped inside Syrian territory in camps, and they are also provided with weapons and military equipment, and transported to Southern Kurdistan.

The center indicated that most of the mercenaries who were transferred to Southern Kurdistan were mercenaries of the “Hamza and Suleiman Shah Division,” noting that the two factions are subject to US sanctions.

Information issued by the Center confirmed the presence of more than 300 ISIS mercenaries who have settled in the “Barwari Bala” area in Dohuk Governorate in Southern Kurdistan, where they are based in the Turkish military bases there.
