Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi arrived in the Turkish capital, Ankara, on an official visit to Turkey, heading a government delegation, to discuss relations between the two countries.

According to what was published on the official page of the media office of the Iraqi prime minister on "Twitter": "Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi left today for the Turkish capital, Ankara, at the start of an official visit to the Turkish Republic at the head of a government delegation."

The office stated that al-Kazemi will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Turkish officials, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Turkey, and will also discuss a number of files and issues of common interest, including bilateral political, security and economic relations, and issues related to the security of the region.

The office indicated that the visit came at the invitation of Turkish President Erdogan, and this is the first foreign visit since al-Kazemi took office.
