Women Organizations and movements considered the death sentence of two Iranian activists to be one of the special methods of warfare seeking to intimidate women and prevent them from rebuilding their society according to the values ​​of freedom and equality.

The Zenobia Women's Gathering, in the presence of members and representatives of women's organizations in NESyria, made a statement regarding the death sentences recently issued against activists Bakhshan Azizi and Sharifa Mohammadi.

The Iranian authorities arrested the activist, Bakhshan Azizi, on August 4, 2023 in Tehran. The activist’s court sessions were held on May 28 and June 16, and the death sentence was announced on July 23, under various pretexts. On July 4, the same authorities sentenced the activist to death. Sharifa Mohammadi under the pretext of dealing with the Komala Party.

The Kurdistan Women’s Organization called on the Iranian authorities to cancel the death sentences issued against the two activists, and called for a joint women’s struggle against the Iranian regime.

While, the Zenobia Women's Gathering, along with women's organizations, condemned the Iranian regime hostile policy against women and their freedom, and also condemned its brutal crimes and violations against women demanding their freedom.

The statement said, "This decision comes to confirm the reality of these oppressive regimes and their brutal method in dealing with the demands of women and people to achieve freedom, democracy and justice."

The Zenobia Women's Gathering considered that capital crimes are one of the special methods of warfare that seek to intimidate women and prevent them from rebuilding their society in accordance with the values ​​of freedom, democracy and equality.
