Over the past two months, the Euphrates Lake, formed behind the Euphrates dam, has been reduced to more than two meters.

With the start of preparations for the cultivation of summer crops, many farmers fear that Turkey will continue to seize the waters of the Euphrates, threatening the agricultural season in the whole region, whose majority depends on agriculture as a main source of income.

In the countryside of al-Jarniya northwestern al-Tabqa, about 100 farmers were forced to stop cultivating the summer crop due to the Turkish state cutting off the Euphrates River and the low water level. Others resorted to digging wells to irrigate the summer crops.

Ali al-Saleh, a farmer in al-Jarniya countryside "We are farmers, we have nothing but agriculture. It is our source of livelihood, so we rely on it in summer and winter, so we have to dig wells to water crops, which cost us more money."

Many summer vegetables are grown such as tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, squash in al-Tabqa and its countryside, and women are often actively involved in agriculture.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish state began to seize the waters of the Euphrates River and harvested by dams set up on the river in areas under its control
