Humanity and Security Campaign enters fifth section of al-Hol camp
The combing operations began within the third phase of the “Humanity and Security” operation in the fifth section of the camp, during its 6th day.
Today, the Internal Security Forces began inspections and combing operations inside the fifth section of al-Hol camp.
This section houses "Syrians who moved to the camp after the Syrian Democratic Forces eliminated the last strongholds of ISIS mercenaries in the town of Al-Baghouz in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor in 2019."
The Internal Security Forces called via loudspeakers, the residents of Section 5 to go to the personal data registration points, as the al-Hol camp administration is updating the residents’ records and data, in addition to the operation.
On December 28, 2023, one of the leaders of ISIS cells, called “Abu Ubaida al-Iraqi,” was killed in the fifth section of the camp, which is currently witnessing a combing and inspection operation.
The so-called "Abu Ubaida al-Iraqi" was involved in the killing of many women and men in the camp.
The same fifth section, during the second phase of the "Humanity and Security" operation in 2022, witnessed clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces and ISIS mercenary cells, as a result of which two fighters within the ranks of the Syrian Democratic Forces were martyred, and a number of mercenaries were killed.
