Yesterday, the city of Hasaka in Jazera Canton witnessed the activities of the Second National Unity Forum for Syrian Clans and Components, under the slogan “Dialogue, Safety, Construction, for a Unified, Decentralized Syria.” During which the co-chair of the Peoples’ Council in Jazera Canton, and member of the preparatory committee for the second National Unity of Syrian Clans and Components Forum, Hikmat Habib, evaluated the positions and demands of the forum participants.

Habib pointed out that the positions of the Syrian sheikhs, clans, and components emphasized the unity of the Syrian territories, and the building of a decentralized, democratic Syria, to maintain security, stability, and civil peace away from violence.

Regarding the attacks of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries on Syrian territory, he explained: “There was a firm position from the participants, by condemning its aggression and occupation policies to intimidate the people, displace them, and demographic change in the areas it occupies.”

He said: "The interventions and positions stressed the rally around the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces, as the words confirmed that the SDF is a national force that fought to liberate the peoples of Syria, protect them from ISIS, and eliminate terrorism, and that these forces are the sons and daughters of these clans."

Regarding the demands of the tribes and components in the forum, Hikmat Habib pointed out, “There are demands to develop the administrative and service aspects, and they took place in the recommendations of the forum, which centered around working to develop infrastructure and develop services, especially agricultural ones, and  combating terrorism and drugs, and reconsidering the camps that house Syrian men and women, in order to reintegrate them into society, and announcing amnesty to those whose hands are not stained with Syrian blood.”

In conclusion, the co-chair of the Peoples’ Council in Jazera Canton, Hikmat Habib, stressed the work to implement the demands on the ground, and added, “Because we are in dire need of national unity, we will be Syrian men and women hand in hand for the sake of a decentralized, democratic homeland.”
