The organization, which is concerned with the defense and advocacy of human rights, dealt with the issue of the seizure by the Turkish occupation army of the property of civilians, looting and destruction, in addition to its reference to the subject of demographic change by housing the families of mercenaries in the houses of the residents of Afrin.

Human Rights Watch's temporary director Priyanka Motaparthy said in the report, "Mercenaries should not destroy or house anyone in the property of those who fled the brutal war that took place in the region," noting that these mercenaries were "deepening violations."

Motaparthy noted that those who decided to take over Afrin also had to ensure that the residents of Afrin and those displaced also enjoyed the right not to violate the rights of other groups.

.The report is based on the testimony of several Afrin residents who were forcibly evicted from their homes and whose property was seized by mercenaries by both Ahrar al-Sharqiya and al-Sharqiya Army, who painted their names on confiscated property.

The report completes by quoting one of the other stories through the organization's contacts with two other people displaced from Afrin, where both reported said that mercenaries had occupied their homes and housed their families.

The report states that "under the laws of war, looting or appropriation of private property for personal use is prohibited, and may constitute a war crime even in the context of combat in an area." The combatants are not allowed to seize property for personal use, even to house their families. Property not justified by military necessity "
