Iranian media reported that political detainees in Evin Prison protested against the execution of Kurdish youth Rida Rasayi.

During their protest, the political prisoners broke down the door of the guard’s office. Security guards then raided the prison to suppress the inmates, leading to clashes between the prisoners and the guards.

The guards also brutally beat the prisoners, resulting in injuries to some, with one in critical condition who was rushed to the prison clinic.

The Iranian authorities executed Kurdish youth Rida Rasayi (35 years old) in Kermanshah prison in Eastern Kurdistan.

Iranian authorities continue their repressive practices against political prisoners, particularly Kurds, including Zeynab Jalalian, detained by Iranian authorities since 2008, Warisha Moradi, arrested on September 26, 2023, and Sharifa Mohammadi, who was arrested on December 5, and Bakhshan Azizi on August 4 of the same year. Activists Sharifa and Bakhshan are facing death sentences.
