2 citizens martyred, 7 others injured in Damascus forces attack
Two civilians were martyred and 7 others were injured in an attack by Damascus government forces on the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, the Syrian Democratic Forces confronted it.
Today, the Media Center of the SDF published a statement regarding the ground attack launched by Damascus government forces east of Deir ez-Zor, which read:
"Under cover of artillery and mortar shells, groups of regime forces and others from the so-called National Defense launched a ground attack against areas on the banks of the Euphrates River, east of Deir ez-Zor, in the late hours of yesterday evening and this morning, where violent clashes broke out between Deir ez-Zor Council forces and Hajin forces. The attacking groups were in the vicinity of the villages of Dhiban, Al-Latwa, and Abu Hamam.
During the barbaric bombing on large areas inhabited by civilians, 2 civilians were martyred and 5 others were injured in Dhiban and the Al-Latwa neighborhood, and 2 others were injured in the city of Al-Shuhail as a preliminary toll.
In the face of the attack, our forces used their right to legitimately defend the region and its people and are now pursuing the attacking groups at the points they infiltrated, where combing operations are still continuing.”
