A newspaper affiliated with the Damascus government, citing what it described as sources, revealed the content of the Russian special envoy for Syria visit to the Turkish capital, Ankara.

Although no official statements were issued about the details of the meetings and visits of the Russian special envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentyev, in Turkey, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a brief statement: "Officials from Russia and Turkey held talks on Syria, during a consultative meeting in Ankara."

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said that Russian President Vladimir Putin's special envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentyev, visited Turkey and met with Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Noah Yilmaz.

And added: "The meeting took place within the framework of consultation on the Syrian issue, and the 2 sides exchanged views on the Syrian file with the participation of representatives of institutions concerned with the Syrian issue in the two countries."

The newspaper affiliated with the Damascus government, "Al-Watan", indicated that the special envoy of Russian President Alexander Lavrentyev visited the Turkish capital the day before yesterday, at the head of a Russian delegation to hold talks with the Turkish side and with the so-called "Syrian opposition."

The newspaper quoted what sources called that Lavrentyev's visit to Ankara carried the file of relaunching the "constitutional", and his meeting with the so-called "Syrian opposition" in Turkey.
