Opening market in Berxwedan camp

The Municipal Committee opened a popular market in the camps' east part, with the aim of securing the peoples' needs, and organizing the stalls' owners, preventing exploitation and monopolizing prices.

The committee started preparing for the opening of the market several days ago and ended two days ago, the market was established in several steps, first step was paving the market floor with crushed stone and smoothening it, the second step was erecting the tents to put the goods in it.

The market area is 1,500 square meters and includes 74 shops, 14 vegetable shops, four restaurants, nine hairdressers, a women's hairdresser, five clothing shops, three shoe shops, four milk and cheese shops, in addition, 22 small stalls have been placed on the market for which various things are sold.

The committee handed over the shops to the residents living in the camp to work and benefit from them.

In this context, the administrator of the Municipal Committee Farid Hamo said that they allocated a suitable place to market to secure all the peoples' requirements, pointing out that they aim to not have to travel long distances to buy and meet their requirements, adding that they seek to control prices and will prevent monopoly in any form.

Finally Hamo appealed to international and humanitarian organizations to send aid to the people of the camp, adding that "because the people suffer a lot of lack of supplies and life."
