Afrin people in al-Shahba facing death due to IS gangs' mines

Afrin people who are living in al-Shahba canton face the death again, which liberated by Jaish al-Thwar two years ago after fierce battles against Islamic State's gangs (IS) and Turkey's gangs, because of the remnants of mercenaries from landmines planted in the canton village before fleeing, which recently led to death and injury of a number of Afrin canton's villages .

According to the statistics obtained by Hawar news agency(ANHA) from Avrin hospital and the Kurdish Red Crescent that since Afrin people went to al-Shahba canton, the number of victims of mines Islamic Sate's gangs (IS) has reached 14 civilians were martyred and wounding 38 others injured.

In this context, the administrator of the Kurdish Red Crescent Ammar Mohammed told Hawar news agency (ANHA) after Afrin people went to al-Shahba and they settle in some villages, facing problem of the landmines planted by Islamic State's gangs (IS) and mercenary gangs that exploded in some people and resulted in, 14 persons have lost their lives and 38 wounded  amongst of them in danger. Mohammed noted that there were no hospitals in al-Shahba and the operating theaters to treat them, a number of the injured had lost their lives and some were taken to Aleppo hospitals for treatment.

Dr. Ammar Mohammed noted that the remnants of Islamic Stata's gangs (IS) killed a whole family from Qastal Jandu village and a 3-year-old girl survived. He pointed out that despite the work of engineering teams to clean the area of ​​mines since its liberation, there were places that were not easy to comb completely and remove all mines in the area because of the lack of equipment  to discover the mines.

Hawar news agency( ANHA) monitored some of the wounded persons who were injured by landmine explosion while they were in al-Shahba villages.

Citizen Shaaban Suleiman from Kafar Ziata belonging to Janders area  pointed out that during his visit with his family to Tel-Sha’eer village in fafin village his 14-year-old son was seriously injured in the foot after a landmine explosion while was walking along one of the roads and received first aid by the Kurdish Red Crescent and then was transferred to Zahra hospital for the seriousness of his condition, and he is still receiving treatment in the hospital.

Berxwedan Rasho, a 26-year young man said "After we left Afrin to escape from Turkish massacres, I was hit by landmine explosion planted by Islamic State's gangs (IS) in Tel-Qarah village."  

The residents of Afrin and the Kurdish Red Crescent called on demining organizations to move to the area and to clean them of the mines planted in the fields and agricultural lands and in some houses in order to preserve the lives of Afrin people who left their homes to escape of massacres and violations of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.
