The city of Inkhel in the northern countryside of Daraa, Southern Syria, witnessed clashes using light and medium weapons between unknown assailants and members of the "State Security" of the Damascus government forces late on Monday night.

The Syrian Observatory reported that "unknown individuals attacked a security center of the regime forces in the city of Inkhel, north of Daraa province, using automatic weapons and RPGs."

It was noted that the attack occurred after the deadline given by the residents and notables of the Horan Plain area to the Damascus government forces to release a woman and her children who were abducted in western Homs while on their way to Lebanon.

Residents and leaders from the Horan Plain area and the Damascus countryside threatened the Damascus government forces to release the abductees from the city of Sanamein in northern Daraa after an armed group kidnapped a woman, her three children, and a relative in western Homs near the Lebanese-Syrian border while they were heading to Lebanon.
