Within the framework of activities supporting the global campaign “Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, the solution to the Kurdish issue” in North and East Syria, today the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan in Tabqa canton held a second forum.

The forum was attended by 80 figures from the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) and civil society institutions, members of the Zenobia Women’s Assembly Council, an independent politician, sheikhs and notables of the canton’s clans, intellectuals, doctors, and jurists. It was organized in the Hall of the Martyrs’ Shrine in Tabqa city.

The first axis: stages of a leader’s life

The first topic, moderated by the official spokesman for the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, Farzandeh Munther, and the member of the initiative in the Tabqa canton, Amjad al-Najras, and the member of the initiative in the district, Leyla Mohammad, touched on the path of the leader Abdullah Ocalan since his birth and childhood, his studies, up to the stage of involvement in leftist movements.

Leyla Mohammad referred to the stages that leader Abdullah Ocalan went through, “from a natural, free, democratic, mountainous childhood, to youth in the embrace of the city, the state, and power, to returning to the roots and beginning to think about the issue of a people who need to be revived and revived again.”

She added: The leader is the spirit of constant movement between politics, philosophy, and enlightened thought, between freedom, democracy, and culture, looking forward to achieving the great dream of his project for all the peoples of the Middle East and the world.

She confirmed that the leader was able, inside his prison, to put forward a new idea and model worthy of all humanity, with justice, equality, brotherhood and love, which is democratic modernity away from authority, monopoly, and utilitarianism.

The second axis: the leader’s health status and violations inside Imrali prison

With the words of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, “I live here half dead and half unconscious,” the second axis began, which was managed by the member of the Syrian Initiative in the Tabqa district, Fidaa Al-Abdullah, along with the initiative member, Abdullah Al-Mabrouk, and the official spokesperson for the initiative, Farzandeh Munther.

Fida al-Abdullah said, “The fascist state chose to imprison an island in the middle of the sea. We all know that the island’s climate is humid and affects psychological and physical health.”

She continued, What the Turkish state is doing is a violation of the laws and a violation of the text of Article Three of Human Rights, which obliges the authorities to protect detainees and provide them with health care.

Regarding the right to hope, she said: “The Turkish occupation state imposes disciplinary sanctions on leader Abdullah Ocalan to deprive him of the right to hope.”

The forum concluded with a final statement and a set of recommendations:

- Writing down the leader’s ideas in small booklets and distributing them to segments of society.
